Yes, repairing is one of our strengths! Repairing sounds a bit like “patching up”, fixing it as best you can, but always having something old, and broken … Well in our work it’s just the opposite! Repair means:
- avoiding the replacement of parts, with a big cost reduction
- avoid replacing the machine (if the replacement is very expensive and the machine is obsolete)
- improve the behavior of the machine
In Sinergo we are able to intervene by repairing even large pieces, as in the case of the impeller you see in the photo. What were the problems? The impeller of the condensate extraction pump included:
- localized erosions probably due to cavitation
PLEASE NOTE: the cavitation problem can be caused by many factors, so the repair does not solve it, but it allows you to restore the impeller as if it were new, with special products, very resistant, able to protect the metal.
RESULT:
The life of the impeller gets longer (and a lot 🙂 … see it later …) despite the continuing cavitation problem.
An impeller of the type you see has high costs, the repair, in addition to reducing the expense budget, compared to the use of a new piece, makes it eternal because disassembling it regularly it repairs itself, without eroding its metal “soul” .
Finally, here is a summary of our intervention, and of the excellent products we use.
OPERATIONS CARRIED OUT:
- Sandblasting
- Tungsten hot coating in the area damaged by the blades
- Thick coating on the face of the blades with special multi-component composite, Chesterton ARC MX2
- Full veneering with advanced composite, Chesterton ARC 855 for external surface protection
- Dynamic balancing
